At Huon, we believe that being part of the Tasmanian community brings with it a responsibility to support the groups and organisations that help to keep it safe, strong, vibrant and connected.
That is why we developed Huon’s Helping Hand Community Grants Program.
We know that a little bit of help can go a long way, so once a year we offer grants for projects, events or initiatives that support sustainable community development and innovation.
The next round of Huon’s Helping Hand Community Grants will be accepting applications in March 2020, at which time an online form will be available.
This round will coincide with a new grants policy and acquittal process, with a focus on measurable community outcomes, which are wide reaching, sustainable into the future and encourage community participation.
The new grants policy, as well as information detailing the new acquittal process, will be available online as of February 2020.
Some key themes we will be exploring in Round 12:
- Education – food & fibre and aquaculture
- Environmental Conservation – shoreline habitat conservation, marine mammal rescues, shoreline riparian restoration
- Water Safety – equipment, resources and training
- Wide reach – regional community participation
