Huon has numerous social media pages including (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and Pinterest and your comments are an important part of our online communication. We welcome differences of opinion as long as they are kept respectful, constructive and contain language that is suitable for all ages and groups.
Our pages are for people to interact and ask questions about our farm and farming practices, our fish and our fish-welfare practices, our world-class products and the communities we support in Tasmania.
We don’t mind complaints or hard questions that allow us to help but please keep your language respectful. We understand that not everyone supports what we do. People are entitled to their own opinions but are not entitled to their own facts!
We will not allow persistent misrepresentation of our farming practices but we will always tolerate comments, posts and links that are evidence-based. Myths, misinformation and unsubstantiated claims will be removed.
We reserve the right to remove comments that we deem as trolling (starting quarrels or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in our online communities with the intent of provoking other community members into an emotional response or otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion, often for the troll’s amusement). Posts, comments and other interactions within our online communities that are deemed to be hate speech (explicit or implied) including bigotry, racism or being prejudiced against individuals or groups due to their religion, sexual orientation or otherwise, will be removed. Our social media moderators reserve the right to remove comments that are obscene, crude or indecent, contain personal attacks, insults or threats of any kind or are defamatory or libellous.
Repeated breaches of these guidelines will result in a person being permanently blocked from the relevant page, without warning.
Having said all that, we hope your visit to our website provides you with the answers you are seeking. If it leaves you lacking, please contact us through the website or via Facebook @HuonAquaculture, @HuonSalmon or @HuonOceanTrout
