Expressions of interest are held on file for a period of six (6) months. During this time, we may contact you if an applicable position arises. At that time a complete application may be required (as detailed below). Please note that it is advisable to regularly check the Positions Vacant section of the major Tasmania newspapers each week. As a minimum, we advertise vacant positions in the Saturday Mercury. We also advertise online via seek.com.au.
Before you forward your application, take a moment to check that the following information has been included in your application:
- A covering letter briefly detailing the position you are applying for and telling us briefly about yourself;
- If the position information includes a position description, a brief statement addressing the key requirements of the position;
- A current resume that includes your contact details and the names and contact details of 2 referees; and
- Copies of relevant documents (such as qualifications, licenses, etc).
All preferred applicants (those applicants who have been interviewed and who are considered potentially appropriate for employment in a particular position) are required to attend a pre-employment medical assessment. The pre-employment medical includes a drug test. The pre-employment medical process is used to determine your physical capacity to safely perform the role you have applied for. All information provided as a part of the pre-employment medical process is treated as confidential in accordance with established privacy requirements.
We make all offers of employment in writing. If you receive an offer of employment you will have a period of time in which to consider the offer and to ask any questions.
