Huon’s operations span all aspects of the supply chain, from hatcheries and marine farming to harvesting and processing, as well as sales and marketing. Huon’s marine farms are predominately located in the South East of Tasmania (Huon region) as well as in Macquarie Harbour on the West Coast. The company’s logistics infrastructure coupled with its state of the art processing facility (situated en-route to the major freight outlet; the Spirit of Tasmania) ensures that product is delivered quickly and efficiency to the major fish markets around Australia and further afield to Asia.
Huon’s primary product is fresh HOG (Head-On, Gutted) salmon, but the company also sells a range of value-added Huon Salmon products and Huon Ocean Trout. Huon focuses on producing the highest quality fish by implementing the Huon Method – a focus on producing fish that exhibit excellent characteristics in terms of size and quality by respecting the fish, their health and environment.
