Occupational Health and Safety

Huon works continuously to improve safety across all of its operations. Huon is working towards a “Safety First” culture and this culture is supported by Huon’s practice of providing extensive training and reinforcement of the cultural values of safety.

All new projects that Huon invests in are assessed on their ability to reduce and control workplace hazards. This was highlighted in 2013, with Huon winning the 2013 WorkSafe Tasmania Award in the “Best solution to an identified work health and safety issue” category for the introduction of its Fortress Pens.

We’re building on our reporting of the metrics below from now into the future which is why you can only see a single data point. Huon has long held a commitment to the safety of all employees and we do keep historical safety data, what we are aiming to do with this tile is begin to represent the most commonly recognised measurements.
