Our Net Cleaners are responsible for operating task-specific ROV’s to target areas of our nets that need cleaning to remove biofouling including seaweed and mussels. Excessive biofouling not only weighs down the nets, it also reduces the flow of oxygen-rich seawater into the pen.
The crew are also responsible for general checks and maintenance on the vessels and net cleaners so mechanical aptitude is useful
The role requires a strong work ethic, an eye for detail, well-developed communication skills and to be physically fit. A restricted coxswain’s licence and experience operating remote operated equipment is desirable as is computer literacy.
