Huon’s Helping Hand grants assisted the Geeveston Primary School to purchase and implement raised vegetable garden beds in their aim to participate in the Stephanie Alexander Garden Program. The development of the vegetable garden aims to get children outside and learning how to produce their own food. The produce they grow will then be used in their kitchens so the students will be truly able to appreciate the whole process from digging the earth to frying the pan.
Charles White, Principal of Geeveston Primary School said “we appreciate all Huon has done to help our school achieve such a fantastic program. I know Huon shares the same passion for produce that we do at our school.”
